As part of growing our tech function, we’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead our marketplaces and communities initiatives, which is a key growth driver for Penny. This is a high-impact role that will shape the future of procurement in the region by building products that connect buyers and suppliers in novel ways. Our marketplaces and communities solution supports vendors and buyers by facilitating discovery, transactions, revenue growth, and cost savings, and is being built to service billions of dollars of transaction value per year.
Role Responsibilities: What you’ll do
As Senior Product Manager for marketplaces & communities, you’ll own the success of Penny’s supplier-facing platform, enabling thousands of suppliers to discover opportunities, respond to tenders, and grow their business. You will also be responsible for the marketplace offering, ensuring buyers on the marketplace can source faster, cheaper from a high-trust marketplace. Your work will directly impact the success of both suppliers and buyers on our platform.
We recognize that product managers lead in different ways, we’re looking for someone who can:
- Deliver and Execute: develop and execute the product strategy for Penny’s supplier platform, focusing on supplier acquisition, engagement, and success
- Quality Growth: Drive rapid growth in marketplace adoption, particularly in the construction and contracting sectors, and identify opportunities for further growth and expansion
- People Leadership: Define and track key marketplace metrics, including GTV, supplier response rates, and buyer satisfaction
- Collaborate: Partner with engineering and design to build features that make sourcing and bidding more efficient
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong stakeholder relationships with other teams at Penny, as well as our marketplace operating partners to deliver customer value
- Organisational Wide Impact: Collaborate with leadership to shape Penny’s overall product strategy
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
- 7+ years of product management experience, with 2 years of proven success in SaaS marketplace or two-sided platforms
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with marketplace metrics and economics
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and third party partners
- Strong track record of shipping features that drive measurable business impact
Nice to have:
- Experience at a fast-growing startup
- Experience building SaaS products for enterprise customers
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, or enterprise software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus
- Knowledge of the Saudi or wider GCC market, especially in contracting, construction or pharmaceuticals
